The ALADS Dispatcher is the official publication of the deputies' union. It comes out on a monthly basis, and features news articles and opinion pieces. Because OIR recognizes that the union does and should have an important voice in the direction of the Department, it take the Dispatcher seriously. For the same reason, OIR feels obligated to respond when distortions or misrepresentations appear within the paper that relate to OIR itself, or to issues important to OIR's work.
OIR submitted each of the following replies to ALADS for publication in the Dispatcher. None were accepted, but OIR hopes that their availability below will provide additional balance and clarity to the respective topics.
