Rob Miller is the Deputy Chief Attorney at OIR primarily responsible for matters related to IAB investigations. He came to the OIR from a fifteen-year career in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. His assignments there included central felony trials, juvenile crimes, environmental crimes, OSHA death cases and administration. He prosecuted 70 jury trials for crimes ranging from murder and kidnapping to toxic dumping and corporate fraud. He has taught evidence, environmental crimes prosecution, and case investigation techniques at seminars and symposia sponsored by the California District Attorneys Association, the Los Angeles County Bar, the California Hazardous Materials Investigators Association, OSHA, the AFL-CIO and the Western States Project.
    He has testified before numerous legislative committees in Sacramento on behalf of proposed law enforcement legislation. Rob attended law school at UCLA and received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University. He was a research fellow of the University of California Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation and received a MacArthur Foundation grant in Rome for research on terrorism.
